国際コミュニケーション学部「入学前教育2015」実施いたしました
2015年2月14日（土）14時から、本学50周年記念館４Fホール・スチューデントコモンズにおいて、国際コミュニケーション学部「入学前教育2015」が実施されました。
その対象となりましたのは、専願制入試での合格者です。本プログラム運営は、学部担当ディレクターとしてSHEEHAN先生がコーディネートしております。
出席者は新入学生８４名・保護者３６名。遠くは、関東からの出席もあり、国際コミュニケーション学部では、2015年度新入生を迎える緊張感に包まれた2時間半となりました。

入学前教育の目的とプログラム
本学部の入学前教育の目的は、次の3点に集約されます。
１）大学での学修意欲喚起
２）大学で学ぶことの意義
３）保護者の大学理解促進
これらについて、具体的には下表のようなプログラムが運営されました。

保護者個別懇談会
入学前教育では、新入学生への課題ワークと同時間帯に、保護者の方からの質問や不安、疑問にお応えする方法として、個別懇談会を行っております。懇談項目としては、「時間割・授業」「奨学金」「クラブ・サークル・学生生活」「留学」「資格取得」「就職」などがあげられます。
本学の学生サポートシステムを理解して戴くことによって、学生のみならず、何よりも保護者の皆さまが本学への親近感をもってくださればと思っております。

日本語禁止の英語の講義 Summary
The most important first step for students in English Communication courses is to be able to give a clear, confident and interesting self-introduction. Being able to do this allows students to communicate with their teachers and classmates in English. From that first step, communication is made easier and students can become friends and work together well in their courses.
In the 入学前教育 English lesson titled: 日本語禁止の英語の講義 , students had an English lesson to develop listening and speaking skills. Students practiced listening to introductions, and then introduced themselves to each other in English.
Later in the lesson, students were given information about ways to improve their English skills at Hannan University. They learned about special events such as the English Model United Nations Conference: an international event that International Communication students can participate in each year. They also learned about active learning and were encouraged to join a student conference that takes place every winter at Hannan University.
Students were told about the benefits of studying outside of class and learned about English Space, an English conversation lounge staffed by native speakers. English Space is conveniently located in the beautifully designed new Student Commons at Hannan University. Students were also encouraged to take advantage of the many English Graded Readers in the Hannan library to improve their English skills and get ready for their Extensive Reading assignments in their English courses.
The atmosphere of the 入学前教育 Orientation was friendly and warm and students and their family members were welcomed into the International Communication family. An important message given in the lesson was that students should be active and confident in their studies, so that they can make the most of their time at Hannan University. It was an honor to meet, and teach, and welcome the incoming class of students for 2015. They have a lot of potential; all the teachers in the Faculty of International Communication look forward to supporting them in their studies.
The Chinese philosopher Laozi said, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
Students at the 入学前教育 Orientation took that first step.
