2019年11月26日（火）、国際コミュニケーション学部主催のスピーチコンテストを開催いたしました。日本語部門8名、英語部門15名が本選に出場しました。

自分自身の考えをみんなに伝える機会を与えていただき感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。今回の賞に満足することなく、日々、自身を向上させるため、これからも精進して参ります。

この経験は、人前で話すことに慣れることを含め、数多くの学びと共に、これからの人生でも大いに役に立つ経験をすることが出来ました。出場することに意味があると感じました。

私は今回のスピーチコンテストで「本」についてスピーチしました。とても良い経験をしました。皆さんに、少しでも本の素晴らしさが伝わっていたら、いいなと思います。

It was a great opportunity for me to participate in this year's International Communication Speech Contest. At first, I did not have enough confidence to stand in front of people and make a speech. However, I could become more confident through preparation and practice. I practiced so hard, and I finally won first prize in the contest thanks to all of my friends and teachers, especially Professor Mark Sheehan. Thank you so much.

I’m pleased about joining the speech contest and being awarded 2nd prize. Without help from teachers and friends, I couldn’t win this prize. I was considering how I would live a 100-year-life while I prepared for my speech. It was a good opportunity to plan my life. When I made my speech on the stage, I felt very nervous, but the cheers from my fellow students made me confident, and I was able to talk about my opinion. Now I’m a first-grade student and want to try anything during university life. If my speech has students feel same thing, I’m very glad. Thank you everyone.

It was a good challenge for me to join this year’s speech contest. It was a big event with a large audience, so I was nervous at first. I was able to practice and rehearse a lot and get confidence. I received a lot of support from friends and teachers and was able to do my best. I look forward to taking more challenges in my school life.

これまでのスピーチコンテストは4限1回生の「大学入門ゼミ」の時間を使い、英語部門と日本語部門の両方を開催してきましたが、今年度から初めての試みで3限2回生の「基礎演習」を日本語部門、4限1回生の「大学入門ゼミ」を英語部門として受講対象者を分けて開催致しました。時間に余裕ができたうえ、2年続けてスピーチコンテストを聴講できる機会が増え、学生たちにさらに刺激を与えるイベントになったように思います。日本語部門に関しては、登壇者全員がかなりの練習を重ねたことが伝わる素晴らしいスピーチばかりで驚きました。来年度は一人でも多くの登壇者が増えることを心から期待しています。

This year’s Speech Contest was a pleasure to be a part of. The contestants worked hard to write speeches on a challenging topic. They then practiced and rehearsed so much to give do their best at the event. The ideas they shared with us all were deep and taught me and the audience members many things. I am proud of everyone’s efforts to be a part of this special event.
